HOOLE URC 60th ANNIVERSARY

On Saturday 16th June members and friends of Hoole URC met to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of our church on our present site. A delicious meal was served by the Catering Team and friends and everyone enjoyed the warm atmosphere. We were joined by Rev and Mrs David Goodwin from Hoole Methodist Church, Ruth Ludgate from Hoole Baptist Church, Rev and Mrs Brian Holroyd, one time Moderator at Hoole URC, and Janet Grant and Val Wynne and from 9th Hoole Brownies and Rainbows. Messages were read from previous ministers and it was a great pleasure to welcome Rev Nigel Lemon back once more. The celebrations ended with a wonderful surprise when every family in the church was presented with a print of Hoole URC painted by one of our members, Rev Alan Wise.

On Sunday 17th June the celebrations continued with our Anniversary Thanksgiving Service led by our Minister Rev Peter Sharp in the presence of the Lord and Lady Mayoress of Chester, Councillor and Mrs Alex Black. After the service a commemorative photograph was taken and Barbara Nuttall and Jenny Lamb, longest and newest members, cut the celebration cake.
